About
A big bang is a collaborative fandom event between writers and artists. Writers will write a longer fic (in this case 15k words) and artists will create something to accompany a fic of their choice. This big bang will be centered around DTQK+, aka the dream team, quackity, karl, and their close friends. The people included are somewhat up to interpretation but to give you an idea, here’s a list: Dream, George, Sapnap, Quackity, Karl, Punz, Foolish, Tina, Hannah, Sylvee, Bad, Skeppy, and Sam. You are free to create content of them irl or of roleplay characters, but please be cognizant of boundaries regarding irl shipping if a creator has specifically expressed that they are uncomfortable with it (i.e. Hannah is only comfortable with character shipping).For a basic idea of how it will go: all sign-ups will open at once. With their sign-up, writers must submit information about their fic, a snippet to show progress, and a summary. After their sign-ups close, all concepts will be compiled anonymously on a list. After artist sign-ups close, they will receive this list along with a form that allows them to choose their top 5 fics. Mods will pair authors and artists and then send out pairing announcement emails. Betas will have their information compiled into a spreadsheet that authors can use as a resource to find people if they so choose. Signing up as a beta is not confirmation that you will be contacted by an author during the event.Teams will continue to work together to create their fic and art throughout the course of several months and at the end of it, all works will be revealed.Event Roles:
Writers: You will write a fic that is at least 15k words and will work with artists who will create something to go with your fic.
Artists: You will create something fully complete by the end of the event to go with the fic written by your partner. Art can include:
1 digital or traditional art piece
A gifset with at least 4 gifs
An animatic (at least 30 seconds)
A video edit (at least 30 seconds)
A graphic edit with at least 4 independent frames
Betas: Your role will be to help an author to edit and improve their fic if they reach out to you.
Pinch Hitters: You will step in and create something if somebody drops out at some point after art claims. You can sign up as a writer pinch hitter, an artist pinch hitter, or both. If we don’t have enough artists during claims, you may be contacted to step in.Contact Us:

Schedule
JULY 1: Final check-in. Both writers and artists should be nearly finished with their work. Small previews can be shared on social media.
JULY 9-14: Please add your fics to the DTQK+ Big Bang 2023 ao3 collection and email mods to let them know you’ve finished your work. Works will not be visible to ao3 users until after the reveal on July 14.
JULY 15: Mods will lift restrictions on the ao3 collection, revealing the works. Artists and writers are free to post their fics on tumblr/twitter/other social media if they so choose. Please tag us on tumblr and twitter when you post!times are flexible. things will not be counted as “late” as long as they’re submitted at the proper time in your time zone
Rules
1. Works must be related to DTQK+ aka the dream team, quackity, karl, and their close friends. The people included are somewhat up to interpretation but to give you an idea, here’s a list: Dream, George, Sapnap, Quackity, Karl, Punz, Foolish, Tina, Hannah, Sylvee, Bad, Skeppy, and Sam.
2. All content created must be new. No previously posted fics or art pieces are eligible for this event. WIPs are permitted only if no previews have been shared anywhere.
3. Fics must be at least 15k words. Art must adhere to one of the following requirements: 1 digital or traditional art piece, a gifset with at least 4 gifs, an animatic (at least 30 seconds), a video edit (at least 30 seconds), or a graphic edit with at least 4 independent frames
4. NSFW fics are allowed but only if the ccs involved are okay with that kind of content. Only people who are 18 or older are permitted to work with NSFW content and we ask that art pieces are SFW so that they can be shared freely on big bang accounts. If you would like to create a NSFW art piece in addition to a SFW one, you are allowed.
4a. We ask that you please do NOT include fics with the following for the personal comfort of the mods: rape/sexual assault, underage nsfw, extreme/excessive gore, torture porn, incest. mods reserve the right to deny prompts that we deem inappropriate for this specific event.
5. Works can be based on irl ccs or their roleplay characters. AUs are allowed, but no crossovers (i.e. you can set your fic in another universe unrelated to streamers/the servers they’re in but you can’t have other characters from that universe play significant roles)
6. Please do not include irl shipping content of people who are not okay with it. (For example, Hannah is okay with character shipping but not irl shipping, Sapnap is uncomfortable being shipped with Bad).
6a. Since sometimes people spread misinfo about Tina’s boundaries based on an old clip, I want to clarify that she is okay with shipping. Here is a more recent clip in which she clarifies.
6b. This is inherently a multiship event, as it is open to people who like different ships. Do not send hate to anyone for shipping anything that you don’t personally like.
7. Writers aren’t permitted to discuss their fics outside the locked writers' channels in the discord until after pairings are announced so that claims remain anonymous. You cannot choose partners beforehand.
8. You are not permitted to share your works publicly until the reveal, outside a few preview days during which you can share snippets. These days will be during the second and third check-ins.
9. People who are members of critblr/leaktwt or otherwise seek out and engage with doxxed information are not permitted to take part in this event.
10. Have a good time! This event is about meeting new people, getting involved with the fandom, and creating cool things.
FAQ
What if I need to drop out/need an extension?
Email [email protected] or DM a mod as soon as the issue arises. We’ll work with you to find a solution and fill your spot with a pinch hitter if need be!How do check-ins work?

Nope! Those are the selection of the people the event centers around but you're more than free to focus on a specific person, ship, or dynamic.Can my work be a sequel?
Only if it stands completely on its own. You shouldn’t have to read another fic in order to read your big bang fic.Can my fic be multiple chapters?
Yes, but you have to upload all chapters before it’s revealed.Can I participate as both an author and an artist?
No, but you can sign up to be a pinch hitter on top of your normal role if you’d like. You are also allowed to sign up as a beta regardless of what else you sign up as.Do I need a beta?
Nope, it’s not a requirement and if you want, you can bring in your own beta to look over your work. The beta list is a resource, not a requirement.Will there be a discord?
